About Big Game

Brett Baker Partner

Company co-founder and responsible for strategic planning at Big Game Software, Brett brings 20 years of team leadership, project management, and software implementation experience. He has started up Gatorade beverage lines in China, Venezuela, the Phillipines and across the United States, as well as implementing call center technology for a variety of Fortune 500 companies. In 2008, as president of Big Game Software, he was elected to the 15-member Board of Director for the Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA), an organization that represents the interests of more than 100 member companies, including ESPN, CBS Sports, NBC, and FoxSports.com.

Tai Ward Partner

Tai Ward co-founded Big Game Software and has overall responsibility for the architecture of the software behind Big Game Software’s products. His ten years of experience in software development, architecture, and design include roles at L&M Companies, where he implemented third-party integrations to sales and accounting applications, and as development manager for Receller, Inc., a company that allowed mobile device listing of items on eBay. Legend has it that Tai wasborn with a draft cheatsheet in one hand and a prop bet listing in the other.

His technical proficiencies include Java, ASP.NET, C#, C++, HTML, SQL, XML, CSS, and JSP computer languages; Windows and UNIX operating systems; Eclipse, JBuilder, and XTreme Programming design tools; Spring, Swing, AJAX, Struts, Webworks, Hibernate, MVC, and SOAP frameworks/libraries; as well as tools including Tomcat, MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle, BEA WebLogic, JMail, and Apache.

James Smith Partner

James Smith leads the development teams for all of Big Game Software’s implementations. He has more than eighteen years of experience in software development, including extensive experience in web application development for utilities and banking companies. James, a native of Brisbane, Australia, cut his fantasy chops in Australian Rules Football and is relentless in his attempts to .

Big Game Software’s core team of developers came together in 2005 on a project involving mobile device integration for online auction platforms. Once they realized they not only complemented each other’s computer skills, but shared a passion for sports, they shifted their efforts to this (much more fun) niche in the market.

Since 2006, Big Game Software, based outside Chicago, Illinois, has focused on developing applications for sports, fantasy sports, and entertainment-based contests, and they currently offer a full range of development services to clients in this industry across the country.
